Randolph Friedman, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer:
We want to continue to keep you informed on our efforts to work with the DEA to help combat an industry wide problem.
You may be aware that on Tuesday, June 15, the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration suspended the license of our Livonia, Michigan distribution facility, alleging insufficient control of the identification of orders emanating from customers licensed by the DEA and State Boards of Pharmacy, who are nevertheless engaged in or likely to be engaged in suspicious, potentially illegal activity. I want to advise you that on the morning of June 16, our attorneys filed a Complaint for Declaratory and Injunctive Relief against the DEA in Federal Court.
I am pleased to let you know that today, June 18, the DEA and Harvard Drug Group jointly announced an agreement to immediately lift the suspension as to class III through V controlled drugs and a mutual commitment to commence discussions towards resolution of the remaining issues raised by the DEA.
The Harvard Drug Group is a premier secondary supplier of generic pharmaceuticals, brand pharmaceuticals, Major OTCs and vitamins. Our Pedigree Compliance program meets the strictest government standards and exceeds the current guidelines in many states.
We specialize in servicing independent pharmacies, retail pharmacy chains and buying groups.
